Cross dressers can use the same makeup products and techniques as women. However, cross dressers have the added challenge of covering masculine features while still looking natural. While learning to find the right makeup for you and apply it successfully can take some time, experimenting with different products can be fun.
- Difficulty:
- Easy
Instructions
- 1
- 2Pluck your eyebrows regularly. Don't include the outer arch, to keep a more masculine look in regular clothes. When applying makeup, pencil in the arch with eyebrow pencil.
- 3Apply a toner or red-orange lipstick to mustache and beard shadow. The red-orange tone minimizes blueness. You can also use a beard cover from a theatrical supply store to cover heavy shadow. Practice with different tones to find a natural looking color.
- 4Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and looks good in natural light. There's a wide array of foundation types. Those that contain powder may settle into wrinkles, making them more noticeable. Look for a moisturizing, long wearing foundation. Set foundation with clear matte powder.
- 5Use contour to shape your face. Dark shadows make areas recede, while light brings them forward. Apply dark foundation under cheekbones and to the sides of your nose. You can add white highlighter under your eyebrows, down the center of your nose, and on the jaw line.
- 6Look for eye shadow in a neutral shade or a shade that matches your eyes. Highlighter under the eyebrows will open up the eye area. Apply false eyelashes if your eyelashes are sparse. Otherwise, apply mascara and curl your lashes.
- 7Blend all makeup products well for a natural look.
