Hopefully, you have a friend or family member that is open-minded and can help you with your wardrobe, make up, and shoe choices.      Define your style. Do you want to be butch, glam, sweet, goth? Defining your style will help narrow down the choices and streamline the decision making process when it comes to outfits and behavior.

     Save money on your first attempt. Chances are you won't get it right the first time. Economize when you're coming right out of the gate by shopping at consignment shops and second hand stores. If you're uncomfortable trying on the clothes in the store, choose a store where there is only one worker or just buy the clothes and take them home. Shopping second hand will ensure that not much money is wasted in the process.

     Maintain privacy by shopping online. Cross dressing sites are too numerous to count. Beware paying prices that are way too high.
